April 20, 2021 twenty-two students and a member of staff of Greenfield University located along Kaduna-Abuja highway were abducted and five of them have been killed a few days later.
While the abductors have requested N100 million and 10 motorcycles has ransom in the release of the students.
Bandits also threatened to kill the students if a ransom of N100 million and 10 motorcycles ransom is not paid. Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El’Rufai also stated that his government will not negotiate with bandits.
An Islamic cleric, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi has acquitted bandits from the Greenfield University Students kidnap, saying Boko Haram was responsible.
Gumi made this open during a programme with African Independent Television (AIT) on Tuesday when he was asked if he is aware of the abduction of the Greenfield University Students, Kaduna.
Gumi on Tuesday requested that he needed the support of the Federal Government to rescue the students of different institutions abducted in Kaduna State by bandits.
