Dangote Cement Plc may have marched its expansion in response to the new developments in the cement market in Nigeria.
They have said that it is boosting production to remove the barrier between the supply and demand of cement.
Rabiu Umar, the new Group Chief Sales and Marketing Director of Dangote Cement, said this in Lagos at a meeting with newsmen on Monday who spoke on the outcry of Nigerians on the increase in Dangote Cement price.
About a 40 per cent gap in cement supply had led to a significant increase in cement price across the country.
Stating that the Demand is higher than the supply.
At its stand in Business, Dangote Cement Plc said, they have not increased the price up until this point. But what happened in price increment in the cement products is the forces of demand and supply. The higher in demand, the lower the supply, which leads to the higher price.
Rabiu Umar stated that what we are trying to put in place is to increase the supply of Cement in the market. Now that the company was constructing more building, more capacity as it invested in a new line that had been completed in its Obajana plant and restructuring more other abandoned plant. The line was only waiting for power to commence operations, he said.
He also makes it known that the company is intervening in transportation and distribution logistics to stave off possible cost sleeping into the price problem.
