Yomi Fabiyi, a Nollywood actor has explained his meeting with his colleague, Olanrewaju James, also known as Baba Ijesha, for being alleged of sexually abusing a minor.
Yomi Fabiyi said in a video that he met Baba Ijesha in the Lagos police custody to hear his own side of the story.
Based on Yomi’s video, he said Baba Ijesha denied raping any seven-year-old girl.
Fabiyi made this known that Baba Ijesha is not a paedophile, adding that he didn’t have any teenager’s canal knowledge.
Yomi Fabiyi has affirmed that the confession of Baba Ijesha, alleged of molesting a minor was obtained under duress.
Based on Fabiyi’s protest, Iyabo Ojo, an actress, had filed a lawsuit against the film star alleging defamation.
On Wednesday, the tiff between them took another dimension as Iyabo filed an N100 million lawsuit against him for alleged defamation.
From the protest, a video was shared on Fabiyi’s Instagram page on Thursday, the movie star stated that the continued detention of Baba Ijesha beyond 48 hours without recourse to the courts for a “fair hearing is illegal.”
Fabiyi also claimed that the confession by the suspect was obtained under duress, with the video where he admitted to committing the assault showing that the embattled actor was “tortured into speaking”. Demanding for the release of his colleague as his offence is bailable.
